An authentic taste of Italian culture in the heart of new Dubai as Sicilia at The Gate takes diners on a journey through Tuscany, one of Italy’s most popular regions running until July 15th.
From 1-15 July, Sicilia restaurant will serve up a menu of Italian favourites especially created by Chef Stefano Ligori, including tuna tartare, a Treviso style codfish mousse with walnuts, Angus beef tartare with warm mushroom salad, homemade papardelle pasta with wild boar ragout, and a zesty citrus panna cotta for dessert.
Tuscany is the birthplace of an Italian legend – the Vespa scooter, which was first manufactured in 1946 in the town of Pontedera.
“As well as genuine flavours from the region, diners will have the chance to check out two of the latest Vespa models – the chic Vespa GTS 300 Super and the Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport,” said Philippe Bonnot, Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate general manager.
“The Vespa is the epitome of Italian design excellence and sporty style, and has been the street smart choice of movie stars and celebrities including Marlon Brando, Gwyneth Paltrow and Tigers Woods, ever since Audrey Hepburn whizzed through the city streets in the iconic movie Roman Holiday,” he added.
Diners are also invited to bring their cameras and pose astride their favourite model for a souvenir snapshot.
The four-course taste of Italy set menu is available from 2 June -15 July 2012 for AED 170 per person. A la carte menu also available.
